Victoria Day Fireworks: Stay Safe, Stay Neighbourly

With the Victoria Day long weekend fast approaching, Oshawa Fire Services reminds community members to keep fire safety and their neighbours in mind when lighting fireworks.
Under the City’s Fireworks By-law, community members can discharge Consumer (Family) Fireworks on their private property without a permit between dusk and 11 p.m. on:
- Victoria Day (May 19, 2025);
- Canada Day (July 1, 2025); and,
- Diwali (October 20, 2025).
Using fireworks outside the allotted time can result in fines of up to $100...
Property Tax Bills Issued & Potential Service Disruption

Oshawa property owners are advised that 2025 Final Property Tax Bills have been issued.
Key Dates and Reminders:
- May 2025: 2025 Final Tax Bills are issued.
- May 31, 2025: If property owners have not received their Final Property Tax Bill by this date, they are encouraged to reach out to Taxation Services at tax@oshawa.ca.
- June 30, 2025: Payment due date. Late payment fees will be applied to payments received after this date.

Holiday Hours: Victoria Day
City recreation facilities will operate on modified hours of operation on Monday, May 19, Victoria Day.
Monday, May 20- Civic Recreation Complex open 11 a.m. to 5p.m.
- All other recreation facilities are closed and activeOshawa registered recreation programs are cancelled.
Please note recreation facilities may operate outside specified holiday hours for permitted rentals.

The City of Oshawa is excited to invite all community members to the Indigenous Cultural Celebration on Saturday, May 31, at Ed Broadbent Waterfront Park (169 Harbour Rd.).
